COVID-19 Information
At Gracious Heart AFH, we take the health of our residents very seriously. We have implemented a strict COVID-19 prevention plan in our facility by creating a comprehensive approach that takes into account the unique needs and circumstances of the facility staff, residents, and its visitors. The plan includes measures to reduce the risk of infection among staff, residents, and visitors, such as screening for symptoms and potential exposure, providing personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves and masks for staff and visitors, increasing the frequency and thoroughness of cleaning and disinfecting common areas and high-touch surfaces, promoting physical distancing, encouraging good hand hygiene, and having a plan in place for testing, isolation, and quarantine. Communication is also an important component of COVID-19 prevention at Gracious Heart AFH. Regularly communicating with staff, residents, and families about COVID-19 protocols and any changes or updates to the situation can help to ensure that everyone is on the same page and taking appropriate precautions. In addition to these measures, Gracious Heart AFH will provide education to staff and residents about COVID-19, including how it spreads and how to protect themselves and others. The facility will also provide support for residents who may be feeling isolated or anxious due to the pandemic. This includes offering virtual social activities or other services. Overall, the goal of COVID-19 prevention in our facility is a multifaceted approach that requires ongoing vigilance and adaptation to changing circumstances in order create a safe and healthy environment for residents, families and staff, while also minimizing the risk of COVID-19 or any other respiratory transmission within the facility. By implementing these measures, facilities can help protect their residents and staff from COVID-19 and create a safe and healthy environment. Our facility will regularly review and update its plan based on the latest guidance from health authorities and the evolving situation with any pandemic.
prevention:
SANITIZE REGULARLY
Sanitizing is an important measure to reduce the spread of infectious diseases during a pandemic. By following proper instructions and using appropriate PPE, surfaces can be effectively sanitized, helping to keep individuals safe and healthy.
PRACTICE SOCIAL DISTANCING
Social distancing during a pandemic is an effective measure to reduce the spread of infectious diseases. By keeping a safe distance from others, avoiding large gatherings, and practicing good hygiene, individuals can help protect themselves and others and contribute to the overall effort to control the spread of the disease.
EXERCISING
Exercising during a pandemic is an important aspect of maintaining physical and mental health. By following guidelines for physical distancing, wearing masks, and practicing good hygiene, individuals can safely enjoy the many benefits of regular exercise. Regular exercise has many benefits, including boosting the immune system, reducing stress and anxiety, and improving overall physical fitness.
EAT HEALTHY
Eating healthy during a pandemic is an important aspect of maintaining overall health and well-being. By prioritizing healthy and nutritious foods, planning meals in advance, and practicing good hygiene when shopping and preparing meals, individuals can stay healthy and protect themselves and others from the spread of infectious diseases.
CLEAN/WIPE FREQUENTLY
It is important to clean frequently-touched surfaces and objects, such as doorknobs, light switches, countertops, and electronic devices. These surfaces can harbor viruses and other pathogens, and can easily transfer the pathogen to hands or other surfaces.
WASH HANDS OFTEN
Proper hand hygiene should be practiced before and after sanitizing to further reduce the risk of transmission of any pathogens. Hands should be washed with soap and warm water and lather for at least 20 seconds or hand sanitizer should be used.
MASK
Wearing a mask is an important safety measure to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. It helps protect both residents and staff members by reducing the transmission of respiratory droplets that may contain the virus. All staff members and visitors to the facility should wear a mask at all times while in the facility, except for when eating or drinking or when alone in a private space.
AVOID CONTACT
Avoid full contact with people who may be sick with COVID-19. This is important especially for people who are at higher risk of getting sick, like our special senior citizens.
